Sprawling shrub with milky sap, 'branches arching;
to 4 m* tall*. Lvs dark green above, paler below;
both sides slightly nitid*. Staminate and pist-
illate spikes on same branch, usually in alter-
nate zones» Perianth of staminate fls green;
anthers white. Stigmatic processes of pistillate
fls crimson*.
