Sprawling shrub with milky sap, branches arching;
to m. tall. Lvs dark green above; paler below;
both sides slightly nitid. Staminate and pist-
illate spikes on same branch, usually in alter-
nate zones. Perianth of staminate fls green;
anthers white. Stigmatic processes of pistillate
fls crimson.
