The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Euphorbiaceae Acalypha diversi/olia Jacq. det. M. Nee, 1999 Depto. Santa Cruz, Prov. Andrés Ibanez, 2-3 km. by dirt road SE of Santiago El Tomo. Subtropical deciduous forest of Anadenanthera macrocarpa, Cnidoscolus basiacanthus, Astronium, on highly dissected terrain (max. elev. ca. 750 m.) on unconsolidated reddish sandy silt. Mostly deciduous now, but some trees sprouting new leaves at end of dry season. Much being cleared for cattle pasture and plantations of Citrus and other fruit crops. Some Attalea speciosa, especially in the valley bottoms. 18°01’S, 63°22’W. alt. 650-675 m. Shrub 2.5 m. tall, 2 cm.in diameter, common in places. Male inflorescences mostly hanging or downwardly curved, the females at the base of the male part of the spike very inconspicuous. Coll.: M. Nee 50159 10 Oct. 1999 03907437
