PLANTS OF ILLINOIS, USA Euonvmus alatus (Thunb.) Siebold Celastraceae Det.: S.R.Hill, (ILLS) 2004 OGLE COUNTY 42° 02’ 30” N. Lat. 089° 20’ 32” W. Long. T. 24N, R. 10E, SW1/4 [ and adjacent portion of the NW 1/4], NW1/4 NE1/4 SECT. 33 Oregon. North, northeast and east-facing slopes along west side of Illinois Route 2, south side of southern entrance road to the Stronghold and Blackhawk Presbytery and camp. Elev. 211-225 meters (692-738 feet). Sandy soil with humus and clay over sandstone. Mesic upland forest margin with Celtis occidentalis, Geum canadensis, Ostrya virginiana, Smilax hispida, Ulmus rubra, Viburnum prunifolium.
