[GPS] 9 km (by road) southeast of Bermejo, 11.8 km northwest of Angostura, along highway from Samaipata to Santa Cruz; northeast side of Rio Bermejo. Elevation 750 meters. Coordinate datum WGS 84 / NAD 83. Wet sandy soil over sandstone. Steep slopes of gorge, hillside seeps at base of slope alon^ road, with Gloxinia sylvatica, Piper sp. Locally common colonial herb to 2.5 meter tall; this species rare along this highway and this is the only large patch seen between Angostura and Bermejo. Steven R.
