Small trees k-5 m. tall with several trunks,
branching below the first meter, outer branches
horizontal; in overgrown plantation and open
sites; fruit green, about 15-20 cm. diameter,
spherical.
Secondary vegetation on former plantations and pasture, and remnants
of original tall evergreen forest on steep slopes and stream edges in the
Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, 0-200 m. altitude. Southern tip of the
Nicoya Peninsula; Prov. Puntarenas. 9° 35' N. x 85° 6' W.
