T 10 N; R 1 E; SW^NE^ Sect. 35.
Brushy area with some trees, Quercus ellipsoidalis, Populus
tremuloides, floodplain of Pine River, along old railroad,
now a bike trail.
Shrub 3.5 m. tall, 8 cm. in diameter, 15 yeasHd, probably
at or very near the maximum size here. Voucher for wood
specimen, MADw. No fruit forming on this individual.
Voucher from another stem 40 cm. away in the same patch,
but perhaps not part of the same clone. Fruit red; opening to
show shiny black seed.
