RUTACEAE Zanthoxylum americanum Mill. Male.
Collections from an apparent single clone 9 x 10 m.,
with many stems, the largest to 2.5 m. tall, 2.5 cm.
in diameter; plants hedgelike, trimmed by cattle grazing.
Flowers odorless. Petals green with red tips; anthers
and pollen yellow.
Pasture slope, a common and persistent shrubby "weed".
WISCONSIN: Richland Co., 3 miles SE of Richland Center.
