Growing on various tree and shrub species in a forest on moist, sandy and organic soil, with Quercus virginiana, Q. laurifolia, Q. nigra, Callicarpa americana, Psychotria nervosa, P. sulzneri, Viburnum obovatum, Myrsine floridana, Cornus foemina, Citrus X limon, Urena bbata, Sabal palmetto, Habenaria odontopetala, Tillandsia usneoides, and T. fasiculata.
