    General vegetation: campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh or dense secondary forest along streams. This habitat: slightly degraded campo cerrado. Shrubs & small trees twisted by former fires, forming an open thicket. Ground cover of grasses & herbs. Soil poor, light reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay. In cerrado, side of dirt road. Occasional.

  • Description

    Viney shrub 2m tall, a clump with arching stems to 4m long. Basal lvs. to 14cm long by 16cm wide. Frt. clusters globular, to 3½cm diam. Berries prolate-spheroidal, ± 3-lobed, black, glaucous, 9-10mm diam. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
