The New York Botanical Garden Plants of BOLIVIA Cyperaceae Cyperus Depto. Santa Cruz, Prov. Sara, 8.5 km (by air) NNW of La Belgica, 5.75 km (by air) NNW of bridge over Rio Pirai. 17°29’30”S, 63°14’33”W. alt. 320 m. Flat, fine-sandy soil. Brushy area, formerly semi-deciduous forest, with small native trees (Rhamnidium elaeocarpum, Trichilia elegans, Sapium haematospermum, and the vine Tetracera parviflord) in fringe between pastures and sugar cane fields (Saccarhum qfficinarum), and unshaded sandy roadside with some loose blown sand and plants typical of sandy areas in floodplain along seasonally flooded streams in the region (Praxelis clematidea) or natural sandy grasslands (Sebastiania).
