to Urubichá.
15°44’37”S, 63°10’24”W alt. 210 m.
Forest remnants along small stream, with a few Mauritia
flexuosa, Cariniana domestica.
Tree 15 m. tall, 35 cm. in diameter; bark coarsely
longitudinally furrowed. Twigs flexible, almost rubbery.
Leaves distichous, the leaf base grading into winged petiole
very reminiscent of the condition in Theales,
Erythroxylaceae, Humiriaceae, etc. Flowers bright orange.
Only a few old wooden fruits on the tree, most collected
from the ground.
