PLANTS OF THE GUIANAS >A Melastomataceae Tococa guianensis Aubl. Det. F. Michelangeli & C. Martin, 2005 GUYANA. Cuyuni-Mazaruni Region. Pakaraima Mts., Mazaruni River. Base Camp 6. Elevation: 501m. 6°2'40"N 60o39'6.1"W. Legume- dominated (Mimosoideae-Papilionoideae-Caesalpinioideae) gallery forest on white sand with large boulders. Shrub to 3 m. Leaves green, stem and central vein undersides often purple. Peduncle bright fuchsia- purple. Fruit green with purple hairs. Ant domatia heart-shaped. Very common. (Lyle 2322). K.M.
