PLANTS OF THE GUIANAS Melastomataceae Tococa aristata Benth. Det. F. Almeda & D. Penneys, VI 2002 GUYANA. Potaro-Siparuni Region. Kaieteur National Park, Wbank Potaro River, 0.5 km from falls in gorge. Elevation: 170 m. 5°1 l'N 59°28'W. Mora excelsa riverine forest on sand terraces; adjacent sandstone, conglomerate boulders and seepage walls. Thin shrub 2 m; peduncles, maroon with age, vestiture maroon; corolla pink to flesh, translucent; filaments yellow green. Fruit immature. Anthers purple ventrally. T.W.
