Secondary vegetation on white sand.
Shrub of 2 m tall. Leaves shiny dark green above and
light green below. Petioles with thickenings harbou-
ring ants. Branches and stems of inflorescence red /
purple. Fruits green with persistent calyx. Tertiary
veins sunken into leaves.
