Norte: In and around the village of Karata on the
southeastern shore of Laguna de Karata, at about
N13°55'30", W83°29'00", about 14 air km south-
southwest of Puerto Cabezas, associated with coastal
mangrove and inland pine forest and savanna at
approximate 4 m elevation.
Erect perennial to 1.5 m; petals white; anthers pale yellow; fruits black.
