of two ferns, one of which I presume is one of our
locally common species. The other seems quite unusual*
I shall be glad to have your verdict about them.
I am sorry to send you so poor a specimen, hut it
is the best that I can obtain for a little time as I
had a fall which will lay me up for a few days. These
are the only specimens that I had obtained, and owing
to my accident they were neglected* I shall obtain
good specimens as soon as possible*
Both grew in a sink opening into a cave and were
ZO to 50 ft* below the surface* The area of the opening
to the sky being perhaps 30 ft* by 10 ft* The location
is near Lecanto in this (Citrus) county*
I have been interested in the discovery of a small
colony of Cheilanthes at the base of rooks in the edge
of a small pinewoods sink in Sumpter Co., about seven
miles from here«
