\of two ferns, one of which £ presume is one of'our
locally common species* The other seems fuite unusual*
1 shall he glad to have yomr verdict about them#
X am sorry to send you so poor a specimen, but it
is the %est that I can obtain for a little time as I
had a fall which will lay me up for a few days* These
are the only specimens that I had obtained, and owing
to my accident they were neglected* I shall obtain
good specimens as soon as possible*
Both grew in a sink opening into a cave and were
20 to 30 ft# below the surface* The area of the opening
to the sky being perhaps 30 ft. by 10 ft* The location
is near Lecanto in this (Citrus) county*
. I have been interested in the discovery of a small
colony of Cheilanthes at the base of rocks in the edge
of a small pinewoods sink in Sumpter Co*, about seven
miles from here.
Please pardon this penoil scrawl.
Sincerely yours,
Xg . *
