Description
Pileus 4 cm broad, convex, dry, with felty, black, crowded, areolate squamules, with sterile appendiculate margin. Flesh white, staining red orange then black. Tubes depressed around the stipe, 1 cm long, white to gray, staining orange red then black; pores concolorous and staining likewise, up to 1 mm broad. Stipe 5 cm long, 12 mm broad, equal, with black felty squamules below a gray felty annular zone, gray and reticulate above annular zone, iwth interior staining as in pileus. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
