Primary forest with very tall trees.

Description
Short-rhizomatous clumps with erect culms to 1.5 m tall, the blades green with a purplish tinge, the sheaths extended upwards, purplish. Only one plant with an old inflorescence, this like Olyra with mixed male and female spikelets. The blades exhibit sleep movement, folding upward at night. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
