Guyana, Cuyuni-Mazaruni, Imbaimadai vicinity. Mazaruni River,
near base of Chi-Chi falls.
5° 33' 48"N, 60° 13' 03" W Elev. 529 m.
Undisturbed alluvial forest at river edge. White sand and
sandstone. Shrub, 2 m tall. Inflorescence in axis of leaves, dense
heads of 15-25 individual flowers. Flowers: sepals light green;
petals green with pink; stamens white at base, pink in middle,
magenta at apex. Fruit 4 cm long, dark brown with raised midrib.
