  • Habitat

    Sandstone plateau, with dense forest. Soil with thick root mat and humus atop infertile sand. Tropical premontane wet forest; the trees mostly of short stature (canopy about 10 m; taller along streams) and with narrow trunks.

  • Description

    Tree 8 m tall, 12.4 cm DBH. Leaves glossy green above, ferruginous-tomentose below. Floral buds ferruginous. Tree # 11.11 in plot. Shuar name "suntuch".
