  • Notes (shown on label)

Two descriptive annotations are attached to the specimen sheet: "A sheet that is a good match for this (15-35) is from Colson Creek, Lemhi County, May 17, 1936, Tucker 157-36 (UIdahoSB) In it the lower peduncles are not closely appressed but tend to spread a little from the stem. The lower lip is longer than the upper; the staminode is apically golden bearded." "Another sheet of this form is Davis 433 (UIdahoSB), collected at Gillmore (Gilmore correct spelling?), Lemhi County, July 2, 1938. The two plts. are 16-18 cm. tall, with lvs. of the basal rosette only 3-4 cm. long, giving an appearance like humilis, but the fls. are large (16-18 mm long) with lower lip exceeding upper and having much broader and longer lobes than the upper. Color is deep ultramarine or toward indigo as dried. Lvs. entire, glabrous to partially covered with fine scaberulous puberulence, acute to acuminate."
