  • Georeferencing Method

Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to 1 km towards the village of Japu along the unnamed side-road which branches off from BR-415 (to the left) approximately 13 km from the city of Ilhéus on the way to the city of Itabuna. Used Google Maps - Satellite View, to locate the specified unnamed road. Beginning at the center of the intersection of BR-415 and the unnamed side-road (-14.8014697 -39.1518), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 1 km (1000.06 m) along the road toward Japu. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the offset. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again to find the linear extent of the starting location of the offset, the intersection of BR-415 and the specified unnamed side-road, by measuring the maximum width of the intersection and dividing it by 2. Input coordinates, linear extent (0.01801035 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset along a path).
