Jacquin’s plate leaves no doübt as to what he intended. There
is a fragment of G. Caroliniarium, Walt, in Walter’s Herbarium
at the British Museum, which is apparently the same. G. Can-
adense, Murray, Comm. Soc.'Goett. v. 33, t. 4, f. B. (1775 j, is
from figure and description clearly G. strictum, Ait. Hort. Kew.
ii; 217 (1789), of which there is a type preserved in; the general
herbarium at the British Museum.
