Edge of tropical evergreen forest on flat, just above
floodplain of S side of Rio Moile, with Croton matourensis,
Virola sebifera.
Herb up to 70 cm in grassy, partly shaded area. Leaves
purple beneath. Hypanthium green, calyx teeth light pink
adaxially. Petals in bud white at the base, pink apically,
turning entirely white at anthesis. Stamens white.
