Between Alcobaga and Caravelas on the BA 001
highway, 20km, S, of Alcobaja. Mixed
restinga, mainly high restinga on drier ground,
with areas of nonnally wet sedge meadow.
ca. sea level. 390IVS, ly^’S.
Herbaceous plant to 3 metres with mid-green
leaves, slightly paler beneath. Veins very
prominent above. Petioles of leaves subtending
inflorescences up to 40cm., terete except tot
shallow narrow channel above. Floral bracts ',
orange, mottled with yellow. Tepals and
stamens cream.
