    Unlogged forest on terra firme near recently opened unpaved access road. Some patches dominated by Guadua sarcocarpa; Tetragastris and Brosimum common. Clay soils.

  • Description

    Tree 15m x 25cm, outer bark thick, deeply fissured, slash broadly rose-and-beige striate. Petals white, anthers yellow, disk orange-yellow, stigmas pale greenish-white. Petals reflexed. USE: mesocarp of fruit sweet, edible, made into juices. Photo.
