PLANTS OF THE GUIANAS Flacourtiaceae Banara guianensis Aubl. Det. B. Hoffman, 2007 Suriname. Sipaliwini. Upper Suriname R., Gran Lio, Awaradan tourist camp vicinity, trails to E from Sopokan's compound (upriver 1 km). 117 m 3°50'37.98"N 55°37'4.47"W. Open area, vegetation along trail. Small tree, 5 m tall. Twigs brown, raised-lenticellate. Extra-floral nectaries cup-like, 1 at base of leaf; stipules lanceolate, golden-sericeous. Sepals whitish green, petals grey-white; stamens bright orange. Fruiting specimens with rugose pedicels. Common Name: akuri pipe (Trio), azengi goon (Saramaccan). B.
