Non-flooded moist forest, ca. 50-125 m elev.
Tree 18 m tall, 28.8 cm dbh. Bole deeply
fluted. Not buttressed. Outer bark hooped,
brownish-black, hard; inner bark gritty,
mottled, light greenish-yellow, turning
brownish after several minutes. Sapwooa pale
yellow. Slash moist, non-sticky. Bean smell to
