BREADFRUIT OF THE PACIFIC ISLANDS „ Lemae MORACEAE Artocarpus altilis (Parkinson) Fosberg Marianas Islands Guam Mrs. Toms’ yard on Route 4, near turnoff to B&B where I stayed in Mangilao. Fruits immature. Round (13x13 cm) with stout (5-6 cm) stalk deeply inserted. Profuse latex when cut due to immature stage. Male inflorescence short and very stout. Similar to Meriaur from Palau and Mangyor from Yap. Leaves symmetrical, deeply dissected with four pairs of dose lobes with wide sinus base. Smooth, leathery tough blade with yellow veins. Profuse hairs on upper veins. Underside slightly rough. Tree "10 m. Diane Ragone 308 11 July 1987 13.30N144.47E 20melev.
