Southern hemisphere beech forest. Nothofagus cliffortioides (solandri). Gregarious. On soil.

Description
Black, viscid when wet, subvelutinous to velutinous. Tubes vianceous pink, staining brown. Flesh white, unchanging to slowly pinkish avellaneous; taste bitter. Stipe black, even or with scattered, low, coarse ridges, matted subtomentose, white at base.
