Southern hemisphere beech forest. Nothofagus cliffortioides (solandri)>. Gregarious to subcespitose. On soil.

Description
Pileus 5-8 cm broad, plano-convex, dry to tacky (wet weather), matted to subtomentose, dark brown, withpale even margin or sometimes with a slight sterile projection. Flesh yellow, staining light blue, soon appearing whitish. Tubes adnate to barely adnexed, yellow, staining blue, with pores pale and dull red with age, cyanescent. Stipe 3-3.5 cm long, 15-18 mm broad, equal to somewhat tapered below, dry, yellow with some orange stains (in situ), uneven to subrugulose to nearly with short irregular ridges, subvelutinous to subtomentose, with interior yellow, hollow, with some erratic, scattered cyanescence above and near base, white at base.
