THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL BARDEN plants or PERU Siphonandra elliptica (R. & P.)Klotzsch Perú: Dept. Cuzco: Region of Acanacu and the Cordillera of Tres Cruces. Ceja de la Montana, with Polylepis, melastome trees, and Ericaceae as dominant shrubs. Elev. 3290-3500 m. Epiphytic shrub with branches to 2.5 m; pedicel green; calyx green heavily suffused with red; corolla tube red, limb and lobes pale yellowish green; filaments white tinged with pink; anther sack and lower 1/2 of tubule white, upper 1/2 golden yellow; immature fruits green.
