Epiphytic scandent shrub from lignotuber, becoming a scandent shrub to 2.5 m x 1 cm diam., leaves mid-green dull, slightly paler below, flowers solitary, pendent, fleshy, cylindrical, pedicels pale yellowish green, calyces lime-green, corolla basal third green, apical two thirds scarlet, glossy. In shade of bosque understorey. Infrequent. Field work funded by Carlsberg Foundation & Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew 02644508
