THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Plants of Ecuador Ericaceae Psammisia incana Luteyn Ecuador. Napo: Salcedo-Napo rd., ca. 56-60 km E of Salcedo; 2926-3060 m; ca. 0°55'S, 78°30'W. Montane cloud forest. Terrestrial to 2.5 m tall. Young stems, leaves beneath and all parts of inflorescence covered by grayish-white pubescence. Leaves more or less bullate. Bracts and calyx lobes green but suffused maroonish. Corolla angled (bluntly), pale yellow; the lobes tipped maroonish sometimes. Locally com- mon. Berry turning blue-purple.
