sand overlying black sand, Kms 546-549, W of
Molinopampa. Ericaceae, Eriocaulaceae, Weinmannia,
Melastomes. Elev. 7600-7800 ft.
Terrestrial shrub with branches arching to 3 m tall.
Floral bracts & rhachis dark maroon; pedicels & calyx
orangish-red; immature fruits dark green at base with
white lobes. One plant seen. Common name: "Sarcillitos.’
