Dense scrub of the giant terrestrial bromeliad Brocchinia tatei, with scattered shrubs and small trees, many Ericaceae, above and SW of heliport, many rock outcrops. Shrub to 2.5 m., weak, almost scrambling; new growth red. Flowers few; corolla hanging, bright red. Coll.: M.
