Vegetation: elfin ericaceous scrub forest.
Shrub to 1 m; leaves coriaceous, discolorous, mid-green above, much
paler below; calyces green with a blood-red-purplish tinge, corollas
fleshy, dark pink, their lobes reflexed, protruding styles blood-red.
Locally common.
