Ecuador. Santiago-Zamora. Eastern slopes of the cordillera, valley of the río Pailas (on the trail to Mendez). Between tambo Consuelo and Tambo Cerro Negro.

Description
Tree 10m., with milky sap. Lvs leathery; deep green, nitid above; bright green, subnitid below. Petals pale yellow, reflexed. Fruit notably pyriform, 5-loculed, 1 seed per locule, central axis star-shaped, points touching epidermis.
