Frequent along ridge line between peaks of Sassafras and
Hickorynut Mountains. Forming dense thickets among
intermittent Rhododendron and mixed semi-xeric hardwood
stands. Approximately 1.5km SE of the parking area near the
top of Sassafras Mountain, take trail head just down slope from
parking area. 338775E, 3880333N; elev. 3381’.
