Description
Pileus 2.5-7 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, tomentose, finely areolate toward margin, 8E5 and then fading in irregular patches to 6D5 and 5B3, with some 8E5 remaining. Flesh white, unchanging or some bluing near gills, up to 12 mm thick. Lamellae adnate with decurrent tooth to subdecurrent, yellow (3A6) at first, eventually 3B5, up to 1 cm broad, some bluing with injury, with edges even to eroded. Stipe central, 4-7 cm long, 5-15 mm broad, tapering downward, dry, pinkish subpruinose above on a white ground, pale tan fibrillose below, with white basal mycelium, with interior white, unchanging. NH4 - instantly blue green on cap and flesh under cap, then deep vinaceous.
