Growing at the edge of a forest in a powerline right-of-way in loamy soil (Gerstle-Moosehead complex; coarse-loamy over sandy or sandy-skeletal, mixed, superactive Aquic Haplocryepts) in a vast, nearly flat plain, with Achillea millefolium, Agrostis scabra, Arctostaphylos uva-ursi, Betula papyrifera, Botrychium lunaria, Castilleja pallida, Comus canadensis, Equisetum arvense, Erigeron (Trimorpha) acris, Galium boreaie, Geocaulon lividum, Iris setosa, Ledum groenlandicum, Linnaea borealis (rare), Lupinus nootkatensis, Melilotus alba, Mertensia paniculata, Petasites frigidus, Picea glauca, Plantago major, Populus balsamifera, P. tremuloides, Rhinanthus minor, Rosa acicularis, Salix commutata, Solidago multiradiata, Taraxacum sp., Trifolium hybridum & Vaccinium vitis-idaea. To the N. side of the road to Clear, Anderson & the Clear Missile Early Warning Station, about 0.05mi W. of the intersection with Rt. 3. Denali Borough.
