Woods of Quercus alba, Q. spp., rocky soil, edge of pond
undestoiy with many Ericaceae, Vaccinium stamineum, V
corymbosum, Gaylussacia baccata, Lyonia ligustrina,
Rhododendron periclymenoides.
Shrub 1.4 m. tall; stem 1.7 cm. in diameter. Voucher for
wood specimen, MADw. With abundant nodding white
flowers (odorless, 11:50 A.M., sunny).
