There is a complicated story in the Cumberlands and its outliers which is by no means unraveled* In this region, simulatua very often goes into non- glaucous fruited phases — in fact, in the Blue Ridge region, it is not particularly unusual to find isolated valleys where simulating is also dark fruited, and it is seldom really very glaucous except where it has access to the genes of altomontanum* This brings up the question: What is the relation of this material to the Ozarkian V* viride? THAT is certainly a problem for the future* But the more I look into the matter the more I see viride and pallidum being involved in the production of simulatum* We have been too concerned with the Virginia and North Carolina end of the problem to see the thing from the other angle. The Cumberland-0zark connections are becoming more important as I study them* W.H.Camp* 1942* ? FLORA TENNESSIENSIS mo-4054 COLLECTOR _ ^ Bledsoe mi intv July 19 .193_5 Cyanoooccus corymbosus (L.)
