Vaccinium pallidum Aiton

The typo of V.pallldua Alt«? this
specimen except that its venation
is somewhat more obvious, which is
certainly due to the age of the
leaves.
Also, there is a sheet marked:
rtVacclalua vacclllans Kalm,ms. in
Herb. Banks." Torr. Fl.H.tork 1s

"V.vftClliana So lander1* A.Gray Man.
Pl.N.U.S. 261 (1848)!
Kalm had no connection with the
plant! see Jour Bot. 1904»55
Thi* specimen, marked "Type specimen11
is «xactly similar to this sheet.
This sheet compared at B.Museum
by A.C.Smith, 1935*
Further note by Smith: If the
above is »the type of V. vacclllans
then I would say that vaciiians=u
pallidum. I h%ve put the two
specimens (types) together and
cannot distinguish them. .
