Dear Dr* anali:
Confirming my telegram of yesterday, I am willing to have
the Tallapoosa blueberry published as Cyanococcus tallapoosae.
Modifications should be made in the description to in-
clude the following:
Stems 15 to 60 cm. high, from thick horizontal rootstocks.
Corolla greenish white, seme times with a blush of pink.
Berry blue, commonly 7 to 10 mm. in diameter, rarely 14 nan.
Branchlets glabrous, or sometimes with lines of scant
pubescence.
Leaves elliptic lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, glabrous or
sometimes pubescent on the upper surface along the midrib, or even
elliolate on the margins at maturity, 2 to 5 cm. long, acute at the
apex, entire.
Oak woods, western Georgia, especially in the vicinity of
Tallapoosa, and eastern Alabama.
