feet. Parent material granite. Soil degraded granite, |
acidic. Open Pinus contorta woodland. W aspect,
slope 20-30%. Associated with Phlox multiflora,
Thermopsis montana, Xerophyllum tenax, Carex
geyeri, Prunus emarginata, occasional young Abies
grandis. Shrub 8 dm to 1 m tall, branching. Leaves I
glabrous. Bark brownish-gray. Flowers urn-shaped, |
style exserted, greenish-pink. Abundant.
