Leaves very tough throgh pale pajdllae, the in-
dumentum of the lower side grey to pale brown.
Hypanthium light green with light brown silky
hairs; corolla white, patent, in the bud yellow-
tipped. Style and filaments light green? anthers
pale blue or lilac with pinkish thecae. Stamens
upcurved, style decurved, quite outside the
filaments.

Tafelberg (distr.Saramacca). Alt. ca4 300m, Shrub savanna
with sandstone outcroppings in the n.part. Ä small
tree, ca. 4 - 6 m; bark wine-coloured. Wood very
hard.
