HERBARIUM OF THE NEW YORK BDTANICAL GARDEN plants cjf West Virginia 109 Gaylussacia 2 miles from Ballengee, West Virginia on property of Luther Shumate, 1/2 mile from 'old Ellison Farm, On steep sidd hill facing northwest, under old oaks - it is also on three other hills on the farm. Wilbur VI.1994 Duke University Herbariun collected by jfo. # & Mrs. Don Smith 10/26/68 Plant Community: Oak, little else except an occasional Epjgaea repens. Plants about 8 inches high on old plants - all seemed to bend over at same level. Areas across a fence, used as pasture land, had been eaten off, but new shoots - very healthy looking, were coming up from base of plants. 02522954
